Prairie Bluebells are a mixed breed bird and as such come in a wide variety of colors and patterns and are not limited to the images displayed. Prairies can have all different combs and skin color. Although they have been bred to lay a perfectly sky blue egg, not every bird or every hatch has that same result. Egg colors can vary from blue to green or even brown.

*Best with a free range life and prefer not to be confined during the day.
**They are not social and don’t like being touched.

Personal Note: As with everything on my website I am very honest with my thoughts on farm topics. So I have to tell you that I do not recommend this breed and I would not offer it if people didn’t want it and I think people only want it because of the catchy name. They are always ill-tempered, attack pen walls and attack me. If you are looking for a blue egg layer, please consider the Legbars instead. Currently I offer Cream Legbars and occasionally Sport White Legbars. They are super friendly and I have never seen one not lay a blue egg. Some people have Creams that they say dont lay blue eggs but I think that’s because its really an Olive Egger that is often crossed with a Cream. Its a common mistake.
